What this site collects, and what it doesn't.

The forms

The quote builder, the update request and the contact form ask for your name, email address, phone number, business name, current website and whatever you write in the message box. Only your name and one way to reach you are required.

When you press send, the form goes to a small program running on Cloudflare (the company that hosts this site). It sends me an email through Resend, an email delivery service, and, if I've turned it on, a short copy to my phone as a text message through my mobile carrier. Nothing you send is stored on the website itself. Resend keeps a delivery log for a short time as part of sending the email, the same way any mail server does.

If your browser can't reach that program, the form opens your own email app instead with everything filled in, and you decide whether to send it.

I use what you send to reply to you and, if we work together, to build and look after your site. I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't sell or share your information with anyone.

Spam protection

Each form has a hidden field that people never see but automated bots fill in; anything with that field filled is ignored. When Cloudflare Turnstile is turned on, it may also run a quick check in your browser to tell a person from a bot. Turnstile doesn't use advertising cookies or track you across sites. Cloudflare's own policy covers what it processes: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Analytics

I count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other sites. I also count a few actions on the site itself: taps on the call, text and email buttons, form submissions, and clicks on the sample sites. Those counts record the page you were on and, if you arrived from one of my links, which link. They never include your name, number, email or anything you typed.

There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, and no advertising network on this site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a security cookie when it is protecting the site from an attack. If you use the "Show the map" button on the contact page, Google loads a map in a frame and Google's own policy applies to that frame. Until you press the button, nothing is loaded from Google.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare records basic technical details of each request (the address the request came from, the page asked for, the browser) in short-lived logs used for security and to keep the site running.

If you become a client

To build your site I'll hold the business details, photos, reviews and login information you give me, and keep a backup of your site. I use them only for your project. When we part ways I hand your files over and delete my working copies once you confirm you have them, apart from what I'm required to keep for accounting.

Email me at david@halldevwork.com and I'll tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. This site is for businesses and isn't aimed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. No tricks.
